Just discovered this subreddit.

Hello I just discovered this subreddit after a discussion with Google AI about the strain from some artificial visual stimuli. I learned that using voltage control to dim an LED is more efficient energy wise even though many times PWM is used. And if the PWM frequency is to slow it wears out the eyes even though you don't notice it consciously. I was surprised to find a whole subreddit on this. And I also learned my smartphone does not use any PWM. Being a LED backlit LCD screen it doesn't need to and they choose voltage modulation for the backlight over PWM. Nice to know. And it's not a very expensive phone.
