Phone Pickpocketed at Paris Texas
Warning for those who go to bars downtown, keep all valuables hidden and out of sight.
On Saturday morning, around 1:30 am, my phone was stolen from my bag. I was dancing with my male friend and these two girls randomly grabbed me. At first I thought maybe they thought my friend was a creep and trying to "help" me. I danced a little and told the one girl that I know him, she ignored me and was still holding on. I kept telling her I knew him until she finally let go. I walked off with my friend. I felt weird about the whole ordeal and reached for my bag, the zipper was open. I reach in my bag and my phone was gone.
They must've put the phone in a faraday pouch because I couldn't track the location. Yesterday the location turns on and it pings at King West, a 5 minute walk from Paris Texas. Then today it pinged at 70 Cordova Avenue, Etobicoke. Now it's at 5 Mabelle Avenue, Etobicoke. Apparently, many people who have had their phone stolen downtown have their phones ping there before ending up in Vietnam.
Please be vigilant and don't let strangers get too close to you.
