So, I’ve finally stopped tearing cloth and made it to the shaving/carving stage on my 2nd rug attempt.

How do I get rid of all the fibers poking out so the rug looks cleaner? So far I’ve tried vacuuming and using the pet brush scraper thing, but I just seem to be making more and not less.
