University offer or outside offer?

I had an AI internship last summer under my university and got into good terms with the professor, he had a few additional AI-related projects that he invited his helpers to join this summer. Meanwhile, I was mass applying for summer internships and got an offer for another AI company.
Was debating with my friends and family, my family said that university offers would be better as they have more freedom and won't require me to work overtime, and my friends said the outside offers would allow me to get used to the working environment in the outside world, both have the same pay under my university's internship scheme.
I have interests in both offers, but am still not sure which one to take and which one is best for my long term future, would like to get some advice, ama for any clarifications🙏
