You guys see the new .65 changes coming out on VFR to IFR separation and Visual Separation? 7110.804 and 805.

Essentially VFR to IFR now have a hard separation of 1.5 miles or 500ft everywhere except traffic pattern. Even if you already have visual sep, if the vertical or lateral go below those minimums you must positive control and separate further.

I'm not saying if two planes are getting that close that you shouldn't ever need to do something, 1-1-1.

I just think that this is going to lead to a lot of unnecessary restrictions to VFRs.

Also, why put this burden on us? Why not make a rule for VFR aircraft to remain 500' or 1.5 miles from other aircraft?

Maybe the AI the FAA is spending all this money on will separate the planes since we're all still waiting on that technology and staffing we were promised.
