Just something I was thinking about at work- there are times in the books where I feel if something had gone differently, or perhaps a series of things, it could have drove him over the edge. I understand as the hero of the story he is not supposed too, but entertaining the idea, where do you think it could have or would have happened? If not in the story what do you think could have driven him to that point?

For me, I always wondered how he would have reacted and been had the wall collapsed on Roran in Inheritance, killing him. I think it could have caused a drastic character shift that may have impacted decisions and situations later in the story, opening more doors for him to walk that path.

A side thought, how do you think that would have played out had he gone down the path of darkness? What points in the story do you think would have changed following the event?
