I own an Aqara G5 Pro camera that overlooks my driveway. I’m exclusively using Apple Home. (no home assistant or anything) I’m trying to make an automation so that at night time, if my G5 sees a person in my driveway (not just motion), the outdoor lights will turn on for 5 minutes. I have Lutron caseta smart switches installed throughout my house that control the outdoor lights. These are also connected to Apple Home.
I get that it doesn’t expose person detection to Apple home due to privacy or whatever, but it sounds like people have figured out workarounds. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to make this automation work. In the Aqara app, I exposed linger to HomeKit. But to create an automation, there’s no person detected option in HomeKit. Just motion. I also have the Aqara G410 doorbell btw. No luck trying it with that either.
I’m disappointed and may just need to use something like home assistant. I wanted to avoid doing that for simplicity’s sake. If I replaced my Lutron smart switches with Aqara’s smart light switches, like the light switch h2, then would this work?
I’ll take any guidance I can get. Thank you all for your time.
