60$ ThinkPad x270 , worth it?
Just picked up a ThinkPad X270 I5-7200u 4Gb 2400 FHD ips screen Japanese keyboard ( no backlit lights ) No fingerprint No Storage device had to install my own
The screen is a great improvement from my previous ThinkPad ( T420 ) which got a TN panel 1600x900 Despite less ram 12Gb 1600mhz vs 4Gb 2400mhz And worse cpu I7-2760QM vs i5-7200u This thing still felt better Battery life 30min vs 2-3 Hours Better GPU hd3000 vs hd620
But here a annoying problem, the external battery is not charging, only the Internal does. I had asked chatgpt for the fix but none works I ended up finding this log kinda useful for you guys to help me:
!THE HOSTNAME is taken from the ssd I used on my previous thinkpad T420!
thomasyouzusky@thomasyouzusky-thinkpadt420:~$ upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT1 native-path: BAT1 vendor: SMP model: 01AV460 serial: 1792 power supply: yes updated: Thu 14 May 2026 07:46:54 PM +07 (93 seconds ago) has history: yes has statistics: yes battery present: yes rechargeable: yes state: pending-charge warning-level: none energy: 0 Wh energy-empty: 0 Wh energy-full: 21,75 Wh energy-full-design: 24 Wh energy-rate: 0 W charge-cycles: 193 percentage: 0% capacity: 90,625% technology: lithium-polymer icon-name: 'battery-caution-charging-symbolic'
It shows that the capacity is 90% And the charge-cycles: 193 is honestly not that bad State: "pending-charge" but would never charge
Do any of you guys got the same problem as me ? Please help, Thanks you! Srry for bad english
