I'm currently looking for places to move to the coming weeks and finding relatively cheap places in the Lochend and Abbeyhill area. When I talk to my current flat mates and co-workers they give advice to look some where else. They say it is not a good area to live in, but that is all they say. The area is ideally for me as its closer to my work.

Some context. I'm still new to Edinburgh only been here for about 6 months living on the Southside, near the Meadows. The small city I use to live in had lots of homeless and drug problems, and was realtively unsafe to go out at night.
