At this point in the story, there are 6 Made weapons we are aware of. I have thoughts (nuuu) and I'm curious as to the community's ideas of who may end up claiming them and using them in the plots ahead!

---/-\-<@

Made Weapons in Play:

Gwydion/The Starsword

• The longsword of the last High King, Fionn.

• Twin of Truth-teller, when close to the dagger it glows with white light. It's power is said to be, "Holy Savior's Light".

• When merged with Truth-Teller by the one destined to wield them, the two blades could open a portal to nowhere (and, "...the peoples of Midgard shall be reunited."- Midgard Fae Prophecy).

• Capable of killing the unkillable, able to Make things.

• Taken to Midgard by Theia, used by the true starborn heir, Bryce. Currently in Nesta's possession.

My Thoughts:

It probably won't be Nesta: Her longsword is Ataraxia, Made by her own hand. While she COULD use Gwydion to defeat a foe which "cannot be killed", I highly doubt she will claim it as hers.

It probably won't be Azriel: While Azriel claimed Truth-Teller centuries earlier, he was very uncomfortable in HOFAS carrying both Gwydion and Truth-Teller together. To meet their destinies, both blades are meant to merge... That being said, if Gwydion and Truth-teller are too much for him to carry, there's also a certain valkyrie he's been giving dagger lessons to who could help 😉 (See below).

It will probably be Lucien: Gwydion is a blade of light- his newfound lineage is through the Lord of Light and ancestors who probably used Made objects in the past (Helion's reaction to the mask). It can kill the unkillable, and since he'll be a main player in the Koschei plot, this could be an invaluable weapon to have. It is also the partner to Truth-Teller, which has been- and could be used again- by his mate, Elain (see below).

It could possibly be Rhys: I find this unlikely, but who knows! First of all, the only time we've seen Rhys interact with Made weapons, they've rejected him (Nesta's), and we don't know if Gwydion's magic is any different. Gwydion's power is bright and white, and it's blade is dark- it could draw parallels to Rhys's starborn lineage and his title of High Lord of Night.

It will be wielded by a character chosen to be High King/Queen: Whoever that ends up being. Before becoming the Starsword, it was held by a High Ruler of Prythian and will be again.

OR! Bryce finds her way back, "Later, losers" the Night Court and leaves with it again.

Truth-Teller

• Azriel's blade, twin to the longsword Gwydion.

• When near Gwydion, it glows with dark light.

• Is said to always strike true, and has the ability to Unmake things. However, it's full powers have yet to be discovered.

• Currently in Azriel's possession.

My thoughts:

It will probably be Azriel: It has been his blade for centuries, who's going to take it from him? He is told in HOFAS that he has yet to unlock its true powers, which means there's still a relationship needed there. It's scabbard also has Illyrian runes on it, it should belong to an Illyrian.

It could possibly be Elain: Elain is the only other person known to've used Truth-teller, given to her by Azriel himself. She obviously put it to good use when she stabbed Frank after "appearing out of the shadows", and so may already understand some of its powers. Despite returning it to Azriel, she may use it again- this possibility compounded by the fact that the blade is the partner of Gwydion, a sword of light which could be wielded by her mate, Lucien.

It could possibly be Gwyn: Gwyn is a warrior and has had extra "Dagger Training" with Azriel in the past. We do not know her full lineage, but her grandmother once lived in the Forest House around the most powerful High Fae of Autumn, she may have starborn lineage we find out about later.

---/-\-<@

Ataraxia

• Nesta's primary weapon.

• One of the 3 blades she Made in the forge in Illyria.

• Crackles with energy and glows like moonlight- can also have powers applied to it, such as Nesta's silver flames.

• Its name means "Inner Peace" in the old language.

My thoughts:

It will be Nesta: Don't touch her stuff! She Made it, it's hers.

---/-\-<@

Narben

• A Death-Sword, with dark and ominous powers associated with death itself.

• Part of the Dread Trove.

• Older than Gwydion, no one knows where it came from.

• It rejected Amarantha, who threw it in to the sea. Location currently unknown.

• Name translates to "Scar" in German.

My thoughts:

It will probably be Azriel: Azriel wielding a blade of darkness is on-brand for him, though it does not twin with Truth-teller (if he keeps it). Despite being a dark blade, Narben rejected Amarantha, so either it's looking for a being like itself (Az?) or has a conscience? The name also means "Scar", there are really only two fae it could belong to 😉

It shouldn't be Lucien: Narben being a probable 4th Trove object ties in to what Helion mentioned about his ancestors experience with the trove, and how he cannot stand to be near the mask. If it happens I can see Lucien and Narben being a bad match, but may be necessary to the plot. I'm really only including him here because the name "Scar" for the sword is still telling, and Helion's trove statement could be foreshadowing.

It could be Koschei: No one knows where Narben came from, and there's some speculation that the Death-Sword actually belongs to the Death-God (crazy, right?). If the sword ends up in the Koschei plot and finds a way to his lake, does he re-claim it?

---/-\-<@

Nesta's Made Shortsword

• Made by her in the forge in Illyria.

• Currently in the Night Court, unclaimed.

My thoughts:

It should be Emerie... but can it?: Looking at it from the outside, Ataraxia, the short sword, and the dagger could be emulating Nesta, Emerie, and Gwyn. However, Emerie is an Illyrian without magic, and unless we somehow find out about a super-special ancestry, she shouldn't be able to use a Made weapon (Unless she can use Nesta's Made weapons because dey besties <3).

---/-\-<@

Nesta's Made Dagger

• Made by her in the forge in Illyria.

• Gleams like an icicle in the sun, is said to radiate cold.

• Given to Eris in the Court of Nightmares to solidify their allegiance.

• Reclaimed by Cassian and Azriel after Eris is kidnapped by Briallyn.

• Currently in the Night Court, unclaimed.

My Thought:

It will probably be Gwyn: Again, gal has been getting extra lessons on fighting with daggers from Azriel, and her ancestry is just iffy enough that she could be of starborn descent and wield a Made weapon.

It probably won't be Eris again: The NC takesie-backsied and didn't like the idea of him having it in the end. Good luck with getting it back, unless it's a coronation present.

Any thoughts on where you think the weapons will end up? As well, if I've missed anything or any of the facts above are incorrect, please let me know!

Like the title says, SJM has a habit of retconning details from previous books if it suits her narrative in newer books.

What is your canon event from previous books you're hoping does NOT get changed and/or forgotten about in the new books? Do you think that having multiple POVS per book could help or hinder the possibility of details being changes or ignored?

Mine is: Tamlin and Lucien did NOT betray the sisters to Hybern. SJM mentioned in the CHD interview about, "Oh, he (Lucien) betrayed us", and I'm hoing she was speaking from Elain's POV because it was a combination of Feyre/Ianthe/lack of protection by the NC which allowed the sisters to be kidnapped.
