I understand you must make 120 qualifying payments because you need to be employed for 10 years.

What if you did not make any payments for the first year of employment because you were still in forbearance? For example, say I have been with employer for 10 years but have 12 monthly payments left because I made no payments my first year of employment. Is there any way to make up those payments and request forgiveness now?
