Incarnation - Newest insights on rules and release plans from English interview (Temple of the East)

Temple of the East interview with game designer (Boris).

https://youtu.be/j9YRD415uP0?si=FPeQfE5bFzN5nG0X

Key points - only NEW information not already in the previous French videos / interviews:

- Number of models per side will be minimum 6, maximum 12-15

- All factions that were kept in the game will have a box release before launch factions see new releases.

- Scenarios will be a combination of killing (eg. killing enemy Incarnates), zone control, token retrieval, positioning (eg. climb higher than opponent) and other classic shared mechanics. At this stage no secret / player-specific objectives.

- An app is being developed "we know it is an important commodity for players", unspecified if strictly for listbuilding or other / in game features, and currently "not top of the to-do-list".

- Some terrain is being developed with terrain designers to maximise use of terrian rules ("wink wink" in the video to one specific designer THM Miniatures), not specified if included with the starters or in the campaign at all.

- On using the results of the ongoing favourite faction survey: "We will take all the feedback possible, we are curious about everyone's personal preferences".

Incarnation - More insights on rules and models from French youtube interview (HiigyTV)

Interview with game designer:

https://youtu.be/hmH9IhxFb5c?si=W-yOiBF0\_DBYWwXC

Key points based on current beta rules:

- Onyx has recruited younger wolves into his new pack, expect a less aggressive gameplay, more agile harassment units on the Wolfen side, nicknamed "les furtifs" ie the Sneaky Ones.

- Scale will formally be 32mm.

- Fewer stats than before. Movement, Attack, Defense, Shooting still exist, others TBC. Mysticism now one shared stat for all mystics.

- "Divine Favour" is a new resource that models accumulate when rolling crit fails and can be used later for effects including rerolls.

- The other 2 factions beyond the launch set are already fully designed, being sculpted soon.

- Competitive play and narrative play to be supported including one International Open tournament.

- Aiming to add / add profiles to "several factions each year".

Incarnation - Insights on rules, models, and board from French streamer GregauryC

*TO BE COMPLETED *

Streamer GregauryC who got to play one demo game last week and take home some models :

https://www.youtube.com/live/uWBV3kvD2EM

Key points:

  • Units will to an extent be cross compatible between skirmish game Incarnation and dungeon crawler game Depths of Cadwallon (DoC > Incarnation confirmed)

  • Models will be in HIPS plastic (like GW), assembly needed for Incarnation, but pre-assembled for Depths of Cadwallon.

  • Board size is 24x24inch / 60x60cm.

  • Bases are 32mm for human infantry, 40mm for Wolfen infantry, and looking like c. 50mm for cavalry, and larger base size bring certain bonuses in-game.

  • Alternating activations, activation order determined by players setting unit cards in a certain order in an activation deck, set after the initiative roll.

  • Each model has 2 actions except the incarnated who have 3.

  • Each action is resolved by rolling 3D10 against a relevant stat. Bonuses and maluses add dice rather than change the stat. Examples are larger base size, charging, plunging fire etc.

  • Concept of "tactical movement": one attack dice or defense dice can be used to disengage or push enemy models 3 inches. Can create fall damage.

  • Spellcasting requires a number of succesful dice roll equal to the spell's difficulty (from 1 to 3), no spellcasting available in melee (true mage, warrior mage tbc).

  • Dead Incarnates will respawn next turn with more power (lore relevant) but each death brings high amounts of Victory Points to opponent.

  • As the story begins 10 years after the Ritual, everything in 4th Ed / Age of Ragnarok never happenned.

  • No deployment phase : each activated model enters at player’s border of the map and play right away.

  • Dice mechanics: a roll under the relevant stat is a success. 10s are critical fails that cancel another sucess. 1s are critical successes that count as 2 successes.
