Is this a herniated disc?
So I’ve had like mild back pain since about 2021 - 2022, ocassionaly some sciatica symptoms but it was never too concerning to me which I realise is very stupid.
But during the period I went from 225lbs 100kg to 143 lbs 65kg (was losing weight) and afterwards started going to the gym and got to 85kg 187lbs, got quite fit and the said back problems never put me out of the gym, nor did I ever notice anything aggrevating it apart from maybe leg day but I did always do leg press and the likes instead of squat as I was aware of the danger, my dad had a multiple herniated discs and needed a microdiscectomy in 2010, hes still great now, no second surgery, even though he was a very bad case, had the nerve wrapped around a disc very badly and was bedbound for 4 months.
Now about 12 hours ago I was walking down the stairs and as I put my right leg down I got a very sharp pain in my right buttock during the stretch part of putting your leg down, as soon as it hit the ground the pain subsided, but then started the dull ache in the right buttock which later now traveled to my left buttock, I also feel slight tingling in my left leg and some like dull aches, but nothing that I haven’t felt before, it’s the same as before when it flared, but the dull ache in the buttock is worse than it ever was, I’d rate it about a 4/10 maybe? Normally my back pain was something akin to like 1-2/10 hence why I called it mild.
I haven’t really tried to walk a distance since then I’ve been mainly lying in bed, and the pain is there but it seems to subside when I lay very still, I tried some stuff like putting my right and left leg up while laying and felt no weird stuff except for tight hamstrings which I’ve always had.
But I did walk like 5 stairs 2 hours ago and walked around the house a bit and the left buttock pain in general is lesser when walking, haven’t tried sitting yet, The symptoms really aren’t getting worse or better in general, the pain has just travelled from right to left buttock.
Its super weird how I herniated it if I did, it was literally while walking down the stairs
