have functional foods changed how you get certain nutrients?
i've been noticing more foods with added nutrients lately. creatine is one example. i'm used to seeing it as a powder that you mix into something, but i've also come across it in chocolate, which is a pretty different way of getting it.
i can see why that would appeal to some people. if you're already eating something like chocolate, having the ingredient in the food itself seems pretty straightforward.
it got me thinking about functional foods in general. there are more foods now that are built around a particular nutrient or ingredient, rather than just being food on its own.
i'm interested in how people here think about that shift, particularly when there's already a well established supplement form available. does the food format actually change how you think about using something like creatine, or is the format not really a big deal?
