first time playing, have a question about puzzles/hints

ive heard of the infamous handholding npcs had in the game at launch, and that ssm added in a setting to reduce/delay hints from companions. i can see that setting under "Gameplay". i have it turned off. my question is, it doesnt feel like it changed anything.

i just entered svartelfeim, and there was a geyser infront of me. i rip it open with the blades, and atreus immediately said we need to raise the water so it hits the wheel above it.

is there ANY other setting/way to disable these types of hints? im on ps5 pro btw so no mods. ive tried googling and searching in this sub, but nothing definitive. ppl have said theres stuff under "Accessibility" but i cant see anything regarding hints.

thanks

WHAT A RUSH - GMGOW

GIVE ME GOD OF WAR DIFFICULTY

Yeah I'm not the first to beat her on this difficulty, but god DAMN did this feel good. Took me about 2 hours. Rocking fully upgraded Valk set, with Ivaldis Corrupted Mind and some Healing enchantments, Wrath of Frost Ancient + Glaive Storm on the Axe, and Rampage of the Furies + Hyperion Grapple on the Blades, and Mistbourne and Blightguard as pommels. Unbound Potential as the Talisman.

Honestly I was expecting to be here for MUCH much longer. 2 hours I am happy with, about on par with other extremely difficult video game bosses like Malenia and Radahn. Almost had a heart attack near the end lmao, I was so amped up.

It's such a sick fucking fight too. At first I was annoyed by a bunch of attacks like the fog attack or the instant jump up + land on Kratos attack. But eventually I learned to counter those. I will say that instant jab attack she does I really don't like tho.

This is my 2nd time playing this game, first time was late 2018 and I only played on story mode. For some reason I thought GMGOW was a good choice here lol. Honestly most of the gamr hasn't been too bad. I've completed every single thing I can think of, from collectibles to Valks, all labors to Jotnar shrines, and everything inbetween. The hardest part, other than Sigrun of course, was probably freeing the dragon at Veithurgard lol. A lot of my deaths were from me exploring areas where enemies were purple and me being too stubborn to quit that area.

On to Baldur now, and then Ragnarok (which I haven't played yet!). What a fucking GAME man
