Today, I am asking everyone who believes in redemption, rehabilitation, mercy, and second chances to stand with us and sign the petition urging Governor Kathy Hochul to grant executive clemency to Jose “Jay” Rodriguez.
Jay has spent decades incarcerated. He has grown, endured tremendous adversity, battled cancer, lost his eye, and found purpose in using his experiences to advocate for the humanity and dignity of others.
If we say our correctional system believes in rehabilitation, then rehabilitation must eventually be recognized.
A person should not forever be reduced to the worst chapter of their life.
This petition is more than a signature. Every name represents another voice telling New York that transformation matters and mercy still has a place in justice.
