Thinking About Getting Serious in DOA6LR

I'm a PS5 Player who plays the game abt at most an hour a day for fun; I play Online a little bit once in a while and I haven't been getting a lot of excitement from just "staying casual"

after all, I've been playing games mostly casual, but overtime I realized I wanna get more competitive in DOA6LR in particular, bc I might as well do it ya know?

but my reluctance comes from two simple issues:

  1. I've always been a bigger fan of Shooter Games, like Apex Legends, Overwatch, Helldivers 2, and Arc Raiders
  2. I don't even know about a lot of things like Combo Breakers, Frame Data, all of that fighting game stuff that pro players know

so basically do u guys have any tips for an emerging player like me trying to get into this type of scene, or even recommend doing it? will it be worth my time, and if so, wut advice can u give me to get me off on the right track

The Story mode of DOA6

imo Team Ninja just has to do something better with the future campaigns in the DOA series. Ik they can't do a lot with the premise of a worldwide fighting tournament, but they did the best they could, implementing Phase 4, Kasumi's other clones, DOATEC as a whole, they did a good job with the stories to be honest.

but for the first hour of my playtime with the DOA6 campaign, I didn't like it too much. that's just another flaw with the game that had been seen many other times I believe, but I have a couple of ideas of DOA7''s campaign that they could potentially use that could help rejuvenate the franchise.

A Disclaimer: I know none of you, or majority of you, are aligned with Team Ninja. I'm just discussing the ways the campaign can go for the fun of it, just talking about things I like. so, let's dive into it:

  1. Expansion on the Individual Journeys: if you played any campaigns in games like Battlefield 1 for example (its a fighting game subreddit, so I'm not really expecting u guys to know BF1; I'm just using an example from the franchise I love, Battlefield), you would remember how the campaign was set up into different side stories that helped tie the game together and expanded upon the world of the game. So using what DOA5 did, they can just zoom deeper into each focus character's story that'll help tie together the story the campaign is trying to tell, which DOA5 got close to doing, but most of the chapters to me simply felt like one-offs and didn't do much.

  2. Add Minigames: I feel like Team Ninja can expand the story mode upon the fighting that you mainly see within the rest of the game. what they can do is add mini games or short fun challenges that can tie into the quirkiness of the franchise but also keep the mode from getting too tedious and overstay its' welcome. And if they can make these mini games relevant to the story, bonus points and chef's kiss.

  3. Maybe let us make our own fighter?: A good amount of fighting games did this, and are doing it now in certain ways, like Street Fighter 6 and its character creator in that open-world like mode and Tekken 8 with its' online avatars. What Dead or Alive 7 could do with the story is allow us to make our own fighter, level them up as the story goes, and just allow the player to embed themselves into the story, and overall universe of the franchise. Team Ninja could also let us use our own characters in the multiplayer modes, really giving a bigger focus to this Create-A-Character system. Plus it can give Koei Tecmo another way to make money in ways not related to charging money for new fighters when they knew the franchise isn't big enough as it once was to warrant more paid DLC (hoping new original characters won't cost as much money as the collab characters). Is it a bit overdue? Yes. But can it help turn some eyes to the game, and keep the campaign from being as boring as some of the others? Also yes.

Finally: 4. Allow Players to Shift the Story: The campaign can give players different dialogue options for the characters they play us through the story, resulting in different ways to progress throughout, leading to new outcomes that might not be possible through other methods. It can add another layer to the campaign gameplay, where based on what you say, your opponent might go easier on you, harder on you, or even end their thoughts of fighting you completely. Yeah, it's a bit outgoing in terms of innovation for the franchise, but if the devs do it right they can make DOA7's campaign amazing.

wut do u guys think abt anything I said, and wut other methods would u come up with?

Things can only get better from here, right?

tbh i wish they still had the costume tickets from the OG DOA6 in its' Last Round counterpart, bc when i checked out the OG game yesterday, i realized how u can just buy costume tickets, which range from $1-$10 if i remember correctly, to buy the DLC costumes

lwk i wish i knew this since the launch day, bc i would've spent tickets on separate costumes i wanted, rather than buying the entire bundles, which the new game doesn't even tell
u is possible; they encourage u to just buy the whole bundles to make u spend more money

another mistake from Team Ninja; i'm hoping DOA7 won't be like this, but since the creator has passed away (R.I.P to him), the series has gone south

in addition, i hope Team Ninja won't make new original characters like the upcoming Minato pay-to-access like other new characters thru the series, bc the game isn't in a good place to charge players more money, but knowing the current dev team rn, it's unfortunately a great possibility

now, look, I luv DOA as a franchise like the rest of u guys, since I started playing Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, and just fell in love; and while i'm a victim of the fan service seen thru a good amount of the female costumes, i feel like they care more abt those than the actual game

wut do u guys think abt the state of DOA6, the future of the franchise, or wut i said

Found the solution to the "Costume Crisis" in DOA6LR

this is the method that worked for me; if it got patched and u wasted ur time reading this im srry

  1. load up DOA6 with the purchased costumes installed
  2. go to the DOA Central, then the Wardrobe, and equip each costume for each fighter u got the costumes for
  3. go back to the main menu, press the reconnect button, then go back to DOA6LR
  4. the game will give u a message if the content has installed when u enter the startup screen

ur welcome

I can't access my costumes

i bought the Hot Summer Costume Set for Dead or Alive 6: Last Round, and as u guys probably know, u have to go to the vanilla DOA6's DLC collection to buy it for the new one.

however i didn't get the costumes, and of course PlayStation won't let me refund it bc if u install a purchased item, u can't refund it.

so plz, someone help me figure out how i get these costumes, bc i didn't spend $21.31 on bikini skins for hot video game women for nothing (lmao)
