15 year old female. i have deep 2nd degree burns on my thigh.
6 days ago, i accidentally spilled boiled water on myself. almost all of it got to my right thigh and a bit on my left thigh and on my right hand.
the burn is on a large area on my right thigh. on the first day, they had put bandages on the wound.
after 2 days they changed the dressing- they removed the dead skin on my right thigh which was so so so painful. i was crying and screaming. the worst part is that a relative of mine was in the same room and he said "how will you become a doctor like this?" (i want to become a doctor) and a few more taunts.
then i was discharged from the hospital. the first 2 days at home went a bit harsh. i couldnt walk properly, my mom had to take me to the washroom. when i used to remove my shorts it was very painful. i used to cry all day.
then after 2 days i went for dressing change and it was sooo painful when they cleaned the wound 😭😭.
(the burns on my left thigh and right hand have almost healed)
its been two days since then and i have to go to the doctor again tomorrow. i am terrified of the pain that comes with dressing change and cleaning. any advice on that?
also, i was able to walk more easily today and had less pain compared to the past days.
anddd, what will my healing journey look like?
