Rate my world building
Warning this is newbie level writing if story confuses you and has some mistakes please know I am newbie and you can give me ideas and correct some things and mistakes, and my English is very bad
So my story called warforged (not to be confused with warforged race from dnd) is military kitchen sink multiverse that focus on endless perpetual wars across cosmos from alternative earths to bizarre insane lore
The story begins when unknown event known as the mutilation begin it event that merges timelines and universes to make a multiverse, it what gives concept of the multiverse because back then the multiverse didn't exist all realities and universes are separated by the metaphysical wall psychic invisible force that made traveling dimensions and realities impossible until mutilation destroyed these infinite barriers and allowed interactions between the peoples of the cosmos
Then came new war that lasts for 4 billion years the bloodstrike massacre it war of confusion and misunderstanding and fear and paranoia for example imagine some alternative humanity got invaded by genocidal aliens and humans found peaceful aliens but they decided to attack peaceful aliens because they think they are from genocidal ones
Despite ridiculously long the casualties rates are relatively low compared to future eras only 960 quintillion deaths due to tech was fairly grounded and it first time they have to deal with every type of threat you can imagine
Next era is tribal wars that lasts roughly 30 billion years due to post war trauma extremist racial ideologies began to fester like cancer the tribal wars were called like that because it due to tribalism superiority and lastly...fear like bloodstrike massacre but more calculated as they gained experience from past wars of past era
It is basically to simplify it nazi vs nazi vs nazi vs million more nazis tearing eachother throats like crazed madmen it battle royale alliances are impossible unless it made to ally with "close kin"
Next era and shortest is age of ignorance that lasts 803 million years it age of great lack of intellect and superstitious driven by literally two eras of daming endless wars has made common peoples of cosmos more...intellectually inferior by it mainly because during tribal wars civilization suppress education to make future countless generations more subservient to the government and now it backfires rarily no scientists emerging or progenies and if they are there is high chance they either dead or too poor to afford school
Some civilizations barely suffered merely having great increase of homelessness and illiterate people and incompetent leaders to average 21st century terran this is worst case scenario but compared to others it like comparing tiny scratch from needle to literal severed arm and leg, because some civilization suffered so much they returned to there times of there ancestors being back to medieval or primitive Peroids imagine type 5 civilization with many Dyson spheres reduced to bunch of stupid cavemen this shows you how devastating aftermath of war is
Next era is scouring which is more worse era and still occuring to multiverse did you know all these three eras started in cycle 0
Bloodstrike massacre started in 213 cycle 0 (although it highly debated by scholars)
Tribal wars began in 34,231,844,696 cycle 0
Age of ignorance began in 35,034,001,999 cycle 0
What is a cycle in warforged universe? A cycle is used for unified dimensional time that dates of beginning of mutilation the cycle is one trillion years and today's date is 476,665,199 cycle 180 literally 180 trillion years but wait what about heat death of universe? It didn't happened thanks to mutilation ironic considering mutilation is source of all conflicts and yet it saved universe (now multiverse) from inevitable end
The main factions are many but i will note only one most powerful hyperpowers because my fingers hurt from typing (lol)
The great horde is most strongest of which it considered great empire of empires due to it decentralized nature it ruled by three powers the trinity of the swarm the administration the Parliament and united churches the administration is bureaucratic mind of the swarm they manage logistics and tech distributions they are ruled by two types of administration the local administration is from native species the horde assimilated and conquered they are local because it easier to let some locals to rule themselves than you flooding yourself with octilion papers and demands from swarmic states, next is pax administration the central hub located in holy lands of earth Primus-44Y especially old malta (which was transformed to extremely big factory known as celestial furnace)
Every important thing they made is written and approved by administration and they must have overwhelming vote of great Parliament
The great Parliament is council of horde vassal civilizations (swarmic states) they can vote what administrative order is right or wrong few civilization get parliamentary rights, and seat to Parliament council is reserved only for founding swarmics or hordeborns or species that served horde for over 4 centuries or nations that earn the sacred parliamentary right for proving themselves useful in battlefields without waiting 400 years, and they follow distict reiligons known as cults
Horde central reiligon is worship of the Sovereign The God of warfare in all of it kinds great khan the emperor of emperors the machine god of everything the warfather the giver of crowns and many many more
And cults are referred to reiligous denominations and off shots different interpretations of sovereign are true and non-heretical aslong as they acknowledge sovereign as supreme god you can follow pantheon of deities and believe sovereign is "father of the gods" you will be spared from inquisition because you acknowledged the superiority of sovereign that is completely non-heretical as heresy is merely not acknowledging Sovereign’s superiority and rest? You can do whatever you want
This is how united churches are made to make cults gather together and are ruled by supreme pope who is "pope of popes" as he is first amongst equals across all high popes of each cult
Now for juicy part the Horde’s military for that is subreddit is made for
The horde backbone armies primary use national levies or swarmic levies they are local military units of each civilization that was integrated to the Horde they are majority however they mostly loyal to there local rulers and gaining reiligous legitimacy of local cults some swarmic states rarily join secular conquest but if it was holy crusade or jihad they would gladly join in because they will gain "great rewards and blessings" from there cult's archbishop
Basically horde military mirrors medieval feudal European kingdom instead of lands they get planets or star systems or technologies or something better a weapon from celestial furnace
But administration needs loyal army that are loyal to them not locals so they made administrative armies led by bureaucratic generals who are trained in both paper and battlefields they are many recruitment hubs for administrative regiments and act as enforcers or anti rebel groups
And united churches and there cults use holy militia and crusader armies they are most fanatically devoted to there faiths and answer orders not from there local native rulers but there Bishops and cardinals and popes
