Buying a Nomos in a different country - advice

I'm travelling to Riga, Latvia in a few days from the UK. I am considering a try on and possibly purchase of a Nomos Tangente 2date while I am there. The local stockist (Dimax) has one in stock at €2200 +VAT or £1900 approx which is slightly less than Chrono24 prices and I assume the VAT can be claimed back.
Nomos are a little hard to find in the UK, I could buy online but I want to try one on. My thinking is I would save a bit of money, and get to walk away with a cool watch and a cool memory.
So: has anyone here done anything similar to this? I've never made a purchase that large in a different country so I'm nervous about it aftercare, and I don't know the process of claiming back VAT.
I have never heard of Dimax, but I'm pretty confident they are a legit authorised seller as i found them via Nomos here
Any advice or thoughts? I love the Tangente, but also if there's a reason to avoid the 2Date I would be happy to hear it.
