Is SQE even worth?
First of all I do live in the EU and not in the UK. I did my LLB in the UK however I never worked there. To be honest I never thought what to do with law later on but I managed to get a position at a Big 4 tax/legal. Technically my QWE is done and TC is not the issue. However, I have been thinking whether getting qualified as a Solicitor is not even worth it if I don't even live in the UK. I had it in my focus so much that I forgot to even consider my circumstances.
As a background, I can't become an advocate where I'm staying currently and working as a traditional is not even my ideal career. I've mostly worked on private client tax and legal matters. I'm enjoying it and wouldn't necessarily want to change it. That's when the realisation came to my mind that ADIT in international tax and STEP would be even more beneficial than qualifying as a solicitor (in my case).
Of course I'm not closing off the solicitor route for the future but considering the energy it requires and the costs (for me it is a lot of money), I'm not sure if it's as necessary as I initially thought.
Does anyone have experience or advice?
