What kind of 100’ Tape are you guys using?
I mostly use it for house line stuff but I just can’t seem to find one that doesn’t have some issue, the Milwaukee one has the hook part the bends when you pull the tape taught. Not to mention the plastic bits it has to ‘clean’ the incoming tape wore away within a day of use.
The Kobalt one is nicer but it suffers from piss poor teeth on its hook, so if you actually need it to grip on anything (say the corner of a house you’re measuring) you can be rest assured that it’s going to slide right off. The Kobalt does have nicer brushes that clean the incoming tape a bit better though, to be fair.
The Lufkin as well lacked substantial teeth to latch onto siding. The tape seemed a bit more flimsy compared to the Kobalt but not overly so.
At this point I’m hoping there’s some trick of the trade like glueing sandpaper on the hooks or something that I’m just not privy to. Any suggestions on good 100’ tape measures would be appreciated.
