First spring in our house after moving in. Had a leak in our half-basement bathroom from all the torrential rainfall and a blocked drain spout. Cut out the drywall, removed the wet insulation, dried it out (no mold, thankfully), dug out around the foundation where it was leaking, added swell plugs inside and out, fixed the downspout issue, insulated, and drywalled.
I wasn't planning on this project and it was a lot of effort. The house was built in 1968, I hope my work holds up as long as the original job. What do you think I should have done differently? Any tips for next time?
