Occasional trigger reset failure after Sharps Bros installation
Just installed the full size Sharps Bros RXM grip. Big fan, feels great, fits holsters perfect.
However I immediately identified an issue when dry firing. If I apply any sort of “above average” to the trigger while racking the slide, the trigger remains dead with no reset. When it is like this I can manually move the trigger forward but it feels as if I’m pulling against a spring or something. It resets fine with no or little pressure on the trigger.
I’m seeing a myriad of different possible causes like trigger springs, striker springs, trigger bar/connector interference, etc. But shit man I’m gonna be real with you I don’t get that same satisfaction that other folks get by ripping guns apart to diagnose issues like this.
Anyone else run into something similar?
Edit: I just see through the backplate that when the trigger has pressure on it and the slide is coming forward, the cruciform of the trigger bar is not rising like it does during a regular reset. It is staying down the entire reciprocation of the slide and so the striker just goes right over it
