I'm from western europe and have a visited the US a few times. Been wanting to go out drinking while i was there sometimes but never went because where i wanted to go required you to either drive yourself or pay like $100 in ubers to get there and back. Drunk driving in a foreign country is a bad idea so never opted for that option. Obviously that's a different story if you're in a city like NYC with good public transit. So Americans, how do you do it if you don't have 4 friends with you to make the uber price bearable or do you just take the hit and pay the exorbitant prices?

I'm also thinking this might be why americans drink less than europeans. It's just less convenient to do it
