Context in my campaign: While the party was bringing the wine up to Krezk for entry, Strahd abducted Ireena and they failed to save her.

They went on to do everything and now it's time to attack the castle. But how? Oooh, a giant painted wooden Ireena statue that we'll give Strahd as a wedding gift! But we'll hide the Dusk Elves in it like a Trojan horse hehehhehe.

It didn't work very well. Strahd let the statue across the drawbridge, looked at it carefully( perception check), mentioned it would make a "great effigy!", then cast a fireball on it. 🔥
