I hope your day is going well 😊
From what I've heard, the Father eternally generates the Son, or the Father is the source of the Son.
I'd like to know what that means, but I don't know much about thomistic philosophy to understand those sorts of explanations (unless someone could please explain them to me).
I'd also like clarity on something. If the Father is the origin of the Son, does that not imply that the Son is contingent or dependent on the Father to exist? But I thought that Jesus as God, is necessary, so He isn't dependent on anyone to exist.
And if the Father is the origin of the Son, doesn't that mean that the Father caused Jesus to exist? I thought that God cannot be caused to exist, so Jesus wouldn't need a cause to exist.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
