This might be an adhd hobby that will fizzle out in a few months, but I am learning how to can. Still working on “finger tight” lids and getting past the wuss phase of “too hot to touch”.

First water bath experiment were whole strawberries in syrup (they siphoned but sealed). Then took the rest and puréed for strawberry lemonade. Anyone ever had a jar pop its lid during the cooldown? Because I sure did…

First pressure experiment was a dog food topper. I used a pressure cooker with the setting. Don’t come at me. All the jars sealed and I opened one this week. Dog is still alive. I think next time I’m gonna add a tablespoon of water so the fat cap doesn’t sink to the middle of the jar.
