Hey r/smarthome 👋

A few weeks ago I shared Haven after getting frustrated with constantly losing my smart home setup codes. The feedback here was incredibly helpful, so thank you for that 🙌

Since then, I’ve been working through a lot of your suggestions and the app has improved quite a bit.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Apple Home Sync - With this feature enabled, your setup codes are tied to your actual devices in the Home app, so you’re not left with random codes and no idea what they belong to later. For devices added via Home, any changes you make in Home, like renaming or moving them, are reflected in Haven too, so everything stays in sync without manual effort.
  • Mac app is now live - You can now view and manage your codes on desktop as well (editing & manual entry focused, since Apple doesn’t allow HomeKit browsing on macOS).
  • Battery tracking - Track device battery levels alongside setup codes, plus a widget for quick access.
  • Improved import & device support - Better handling for bridges, bridged devices, and non-standard devices.
  • NFC support - Read/write tags to instantly access setup codes.
  • Better organization & backups - More filters, sorting, and extra fields like tags, URLs, power source, and charging state.
  • Plus a lot of smaller UX improvements and bug fixes based directly on your feedback.

The core idea is still the same: a simple, clean way to scan and store your setup codes, with seamless sync across devices.

Pricing: Free for up to 5 codes, with a one-time $5 unlock for unlimited.

If you’ve tried it before, I’d love to hear what you think of the updates. And if not, feel free to check it out :)
