Wanted to test out different bolt configurations on my Luxe 2.0. Running a 77/4500 tank, around 550psi. Manifold screw is set at 1.5 screws in from flush (stock). All configurations were cronoing around low to mid 280s. Upped the dwell +2 to 18ms when using Feathertouch in stock, as well as both encore configurations.
I was able to drop the pressure on the 2.0 a full turn when using the encore bolt. It was about 15-20 fps higher with the Encore. Encore consistency and FPS didn’t change hardly at all (maybe a decrease of 5 fps) when Feathertouch screw was installed. Feathertouch softens the shot signature a little with the encore. Overall Definitely a more poppy shot.
The stock bolt has one of the softest/poofiest shots of any marker I’ve ever shot. I live in TX, so haven’t experienced any FSDO or bolt stick in this configuration yet. I love the way it shoots with the Feathertouch. I keep it out of my ICE, but it makes the 2.0 shoot beautifully!
In conclusion, I love the sound signature and shot of the stock bolt with feather touch screw in. I’m willing to sacrifice some reliability to get that poofy signature luxe sound. If playing in a tourney or just wanting more reliability (no bolt spring, faster bolt cycle) I think the Encore is a great choice. I’m curious what efficiency looks like stock vs encore. I know on the Luxe ICE the efficiency dips when using encore bolt, despite the fps increase.
