Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice on how to get professional exposure to German ecosystems and wildlife.
For context, I’m an ecologist in Australia with a PhD and currently studying B2 German. I’ve always wanted to work in Europe in the environmental field, even if this is just temporary.
I’m thinking a good place to start would be an entry-level job where I can continue building my German skills and familiarise myself with the ecosystems.
I think my options are:
- Do a masters in Germany for more work opportunities/local exposure and continue working on my German (rather not given I’ve already done a PhD)
- Look for short-term working holiday opportunities
- Get an English-speaking job in something adjacent such as an NGO or regulator as a starting point and continue studying and speaking German until professional proficiency
Any advice would be much appreciated!
