Modern technology, why the fuck not? Heroes of any pantheon would greatly benefit from communications and weapons technology of the modern age! Yes I know that using a cell phone is sending up a signal flare for monsters(which I find to be a copout), and yes I know monsters are only easily killed by magical metals…but come on! There is literal magic involved here! Put an encryption crystal on the phone, make your own celestial bronze or enchant the bullets or some shit! Your refusal to accept the modern age is costing you the lives of children!!!
I have a theory that the Olympians all want to be actually good and involved parents, but thanks to the ancient laws(whose origins are not explicitly explained but we can theorize stem from the Trojan War), they can’t unless they want lord dickhead himself to zap them and flash fry their kids, yes, even the ones that don’t appear to want to do so, like Athena and Ares. So after Millenia of frustration and heartbreak, many try to be as openly distant as they can stomach to avoid emotionally bonding to a child that has a 99% chance of getting horrifically murdered while they are forced to stand by and watch.
What do y’all think? There some merit to this or do you think the immortals are incapable of being emotionally competent towards non-immortals?
