Infighting amongst management?

Pretty much agree with Beppe on Comolli. He walked into a club with the mercato already hugely underway.
The whole world knew we were trying to get Chico, Kolo, David - We ended up getting two of them. Openda likely a backup plan, at cost, if Kolo fell through, and PSG behaved very poorly over Kolo. Rather than give him to us, they gave him to Spurs on a dry loan. I imagine it could simply be more retribution from Ceferin towards the club, via his pal owner of pSG...

It was not a market last Summer planned by Comolli.

The BoD was only confirmed in November.
Burgess, Silverstone, Ottolini and likely others have come in.
The new structure only really began to settle down late last year. They are yet to have a summer mercato to work.

The idea of Elkan approving Comolli, Chiellini also I assume, then promoting him, then to sack him or strip him of the very responsibilities he was brought in to perform??? Seems ridiculous and a shambles so I presume its wrong. The new setup needs at least this Summer to show what they can do and then next season on top.

Spalletti can be very stubborn. He has his way of playing and he has been clear of not having the players to do this. Comolli has to also balance the club future, not solely try to get whatever Spalletti wants.

Modesto seems a waste of time. No real idea what he does other than try look a gangster from a Godfather film?

Sacking Comolli without allowing him to implement any of the very ideas he was brought in to implement would smack of complete desperation and also incompetence.

The first small inkling we got of the new management working recruitment in january was cagey, but sensible and even quite encouraging. Didnt get the CF but tried to, and refused to bend to the will of others. I presume its part to do with the aim to go big this Summer.

I was curious to check this, given I have remained a little uncertain of how much better we have become in terms of results - not just performances - and where we would be had the league campaign began with the first game of Spalletti as our coach.

As I am supping russian firewater this evening, I have been lazy and relied upon Grok to calculate the table. It may be a little off, yet the general conclusion appears to be that we would be still in a title race in these circumstances.

Add to this the assumption that had Spalletti been given some say in the mercato during the Summer as well as a proper pre-season, we would likely have had a stronger season.

It encourages belief and hope for a brighter future.
