Combat Robot Bite Visualizer [REPOST to reformat & showcase images]

You can upload an STL file of your preferred wedge geometry (Repeat Robotics has some open source wedges), and the spinner is parametric. One thing about weapon "bite" that I always thought was understated is that it's not just "depth" that matters. The deeper the weapon bites, the straighter and shorter the path the weapon carves through the enemy armor. As bite approaches zero, the nature of a circle's arc length between two x values (You can verify this yourself using Desmos and the definite integral for arc length) means that the effective thickness of the enemy armor explodes as the plate gets closer and closer to the end of the circle. This "thickness effect" is also exacerbated by the sloping of armor panels (Here is a source depicting this idea as it applies to tanks: https://panzerworld.com/relative-armor-thickness ). This visualizer aims to portray the effects of bite and armor angling on the distance the tooth has to travel through the armor to penetrate. Interpreting a larger path length as deleterious, this also showcases why asymmetrical blades are superior to symmetrical blades despite their lower moments of inertia.
