On Royal Road, the main character had a lot of voices of demons in his head that he often ignored. At one point in the story, he auctioned off the soul of a defeated antagonist to the demons and accepted the offer of some years of silence from a demon.
There was also something about a snail with an earth affinity, I think? Another theme might have been evil powers with good intentions.
