Hi everyone,
I live in a country where internet access is quite restricted. I have trouble accessing Reddit, YouTube, Google, and similar websites. I’ve been wanting to set up my own VPS to run a VPN/Shadowsocks/V2Ray/Clash node.
I heard that Oracle Cloud offers a good Always Free tier, so I tried to register, but it failed every time (stuck at phone verification, credit card verification, etc.). I really need a stable VPS.
My requirements are:
• Preferably free (like Oracle Always Free)
• Or very cheap (around $1–5 per month)
• No need for high performance — just stable enough to run VPN (at least 1 CPU core, 1GB RAM, and 500GB+ traffic per month)
• Preferably located in Asia (Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, etc.) for lower latency
Are there any reliable free or ultra-low-cost VPS options available right now?
Or if anyone has successfully registered Oracle Cloud, could you please share your experience and any tips to avoid common issues?
Thank you very much!
I’m quite new to Reddit, so I really appreciate any advice from you all 🙏
