I know it's questionable to compare buffet breakfasts to cafe - but a double room cost me £95 for two adults with breakfast while I was visiting friends in Cardiff a couple of weeks ago vs £75 for the room with no breakfast (I saw you could buy breakfast on the day for £14pp).
The offering also included the standard toast/ fruit/ cheese/ ham/ pastries and there were (what looked like tinned) mushrooms and tomatoes that I didn't fancy.
The bacon was only coloured on one side, but all in all it set us up well for the day and we ended up skipping lunch in favour of an early dinner.
I'm back for a friend's wedding in another couple of months so I think next time we'll try breakfast in the market and see how it compares.
