Do you have a couch potato dog? Are they always low energy, or can you get them excited for a long hike on the weekend?

I'm thinking of adopting a second dog, and am struggling with how to find the right energy match.

I have a 10-pound dog who's happy with 30-45 minute walks once or twice a day, but I would not describe her as a couch potato. She is a great adventure buddy who loves to go on long hikes on the weekends.

I'm seeing some profiles for puppies that are couch potatoes, and that sounds ideal for me during the work week. I just can't take on a dog that needs three hours of rigorous exercise every day. But I'd love a weekend adventure buddy.

What's been your experience?
