Applied for reconsideration: March 8, 2026
Applied for restoration + PGWP: May 9, 2026
Approved: May 14, 2026

During this process, I contacted my MP and they raised 3 webforms on my behalf. I also called IRCC multiple times.

From my personal experience, I honestly don’t think anything really speeds up the process. What helped most was:

1. Apply for reconsideration first

That seems to be the correct approach since IRCC specifically asks people to restore their status if needed.

After I submitted my restoration + PGWP application, they reopened my file within just 3 days.

I know this process is stressful, so I hope this timeline helps someone who is waiting. Wishing everyone good news and PGWP approvals soon.
