Microphone Recommendations for Reality Game Filming (LRGs)
I recently got into the Live Reality Game (LRG) community, which is basically YouTube versions of games like Survivor, Big Brother, etc.
I will be on the Film Crew this summer for a local game, and after watching previous seasons my biggest criticism would be the audio quality. When the contestants are strategizing and whispering with each other, it's very hard to hear what they are saying.
Most of the footage is being filmed on various iPhones. I'm looking for recommendations on how we can get better audio of the conversations.
I was thinking of looking into individual mics for each contestant, but since the footage is being filmed by multiple iPhones, how would that work? Does all the audio go to one source, and has to be edited in afterwards, or is there a way to make all of the iPhones sync to all of the mics simultaneously?
Or would it be better to get some sort of external mics for each iPhone?
