New grad job, would I be doing myself a disservice?

Good morning,

I'm a new grad searching for my first job, wanting to get into a field that generally requires experience. I am open to moving and leaving my home state, but the struggle is still real.

I did get an offer in my preferred specialty with a company that contracts with various hospitals, however, it's in a region that I would HATE to live in so I don't want to take it. The same company has a per diem spot in the same specialty in an area I can tolerate. 5-6 shifts/month with the possiblity of more depending on availability. I'm doing a site visit later this week so hope to learn more about it.

Hypothetically, would I be doing myself a disservice by taking a per diem job as a new grad if I am only able to work the minimal shifts I mentioned? Ideally I'd make up for the income with a second per diem/part time job in a less desired specialty until a full time spot opens up.

Thoughts?
