SOTD 💈 Afternoon at the Tailor

SOTD 💈(05/18/2026)

Razor: Henson AL13 Copper

Blade: Gillette Silver Blue

Brush: Trotter Handcrafts Gothic

Soap/Splash: MMGP Afternoon at the Tailor

Post Shave: Zingari Man Sego Balm

Bowl: Spot Prints 3D

MMGP was my most recent pickup from The Razor Company. Afternoon at the Tailor is a timeless and classic scent with notes of bergamot, mandarin orange and cardamom. This soap base has really impressed me as of late. I prefer Morning at the Barber as I’m a sucker for a barbershop scent. But this one is a nice everyday scent. The soap base creates this rich and thick lather. But what I love about the soap and splash is post shave as well. If you don’t have MMGP in your shave den already then do you even shave bro? 😂 but seriously really good stuff, highly recommended.

The brush from Trotter is my one and only and it’s a beauty. The Gothic pour is absolutely phenomenal. I definitely should have taken more pictures with different angles. But the pictures really doesn’t do this brush justice. The badger knot whips up a damn good lather in no time.

The AL13 from Henson is with the mild plate and I’m not sure if I’m sold on this razor just yet. It creates this weird suction feeling when shaving. It’s not a bad shaver by any means but definitely one I grabbed the least in my den. I do like the fact that it locks in a certain angle when shaving, definitely different from anything that I have. Thank you for following along…and as always

SOTD 💈 Catie’s Bubbles Azure

SOTD 💈(05/15/2026)

Razor: Rockwell 6S Blue

Blade: Feather

Brush: Yaqi Mysterious Space

Soap/Splash: Catie’s Bubbles Azure

Post Shave: Zingari Man Sego Balm

Bowl: Spot Prints 3D

Was going thru my drawers and totally forgot I had this one from Catie’s Bubbles. Azure is her take on a modern blue barbershop and it is quite nice. She describes it as a beautiful aquatic chypre and I couldn’t agree more. Notes of bergamot, lavender, geranium, petitgrain, musk and of course the aquatic notes. I can smell this jar the whole day, super clean take on a barbershop. Now for the soap. This is labeled as her premium shaving soap and it’s super easy to whip up a lather. Although I think I may have used a little too much water so it didn’t have as much cushion as I would hope for. But total user error on my part and not the soap. Still made for a great shave. The splash gives a nice burn but on the dry down the skin feels soft and nourishing.

The brush from Yaqi is their Mysterious Space handle and in the light this is where this product shines. The different shades of blue with the star like specs make for a really cool handle. Definitely has that outer space vibe. The tuxedo knot on her is quite nice. Super soft and has a decent amount of splay to it. Have no problems whipping up a lather with this knot.

The Rockwell 6S as you already know is one of my favorite daily drivers in the den. Currently running it on plate 4 but I think we may bump it up to plate 5. I feel like it’s a more efficient shave on plate 5 with the Feather blade believe it or not. The versatility of this razor is what makes it so enjoyable to use. The ability to tinker with it when using different blades is a great aspect. Not to mention it’s just a smooth shaver whatever blade you run with it. Thank you for following along…and as always

SOTD 💈 Noble Otter Lonestar

SOTD 💈(05/11/2026)

Razor: Razorock Lupo Gold

Blade: Gillette Silver Blues

Brush: AP Shave Co. Honey Hive Butterscotch

Soap/Splash: Noble Otter Lonestar

Post Shave: Zingari Man Sego Balm

Bowl: Spot Prints 3D Pomade Chronicles Custom

Noble Otter still reigns supreme for me as one of my favorite artisan soaps. Everything they do is top notch, from the soap and splash to the packaging and branding. One of my very first artisan soaps so I think that’s why I am slightly biased, but for good reason. Lonestar is one that flys under the radar so to speak. It’s such a good scent in my opinion. Notes of lemon, sage, Texas cedar, hay, magnolia, oak moss and leather. It’s a scent that once you smell it you will understand why it’s so good. It’s not super complex as much as it is a very clean and balanced scent. It simply works. I still say post shave feel NO holds up to all the artisans out there, especially their splashes.

The brush from AP Shave Co I scooped up from The Razor Company. It’s a Mühle STF XLarge dense knot and this is a lather machine. Really grown to enjoy this knot as it’s pretty easy to whip up lather. Nice yogurt consistency and the more water I add, it just kept getting better. The Honey Hive handle is a great looking design as well. Highly underrated brush and knot. If you have a chance to scoop one up, I highly recommend it.

The razor from Razorock is one I don’t grab for often, the Lupo Gold. I couldn’t resist as this razor looked too nice not to pick up. It is simply stunning in person. This is an aluminum version so it’s very light and very nimble. I will say if your hands have some lather on it you have to make sure you get a good grip. A few times the razor slipped out of my hands, but that was totally on me. Paired with a GSB, this was a very pleasant and smooth shave. I feel like with the right blade pairing with this razor, I will definitely reach for this one more often. Very hard to beat for the price as well. Thank you for following along…and as always

SOTD 💈 A&E Constant

SOTD 💈(05/09/2026)

Razor: The Razor Company Vanguard Mild

Blade: Feathers

Brush: AP Shave Co. Ruby Red Ripple Cashmere

Soap/Splash: Ariana and Evans Constant

Post Shave: Zingari Man Sego Balm

Bowl: Spot Prints 3D

Today I am featuring my latest pickup from @therazorcompany in collaboration with @ariana.evans.thebrand, Constant. I’m so glad they restocked this because this is an absolutely incredible release. The soap comes in the fantastic Ultima 2 base from A&E and the scent is inspired by Althaïr by Parfums de Marly. Although I never tried this scent, I can say this is a banger to say the least. A warm and invigorating scent that gave myself Versace Eros Flame vibes when I first smelled the jar. This scent is complex with all the scent notes but a few that stand out to me are the cinnamon, vanilla, bergamot and orange blossom. It’s simply a stunning scent and I highly recommend grabbing a jar if it’s still available. But let’s talk about this gorgeous label from @s.0.g.6. He absolutely killed this one as he did with the other two collaborations, Equus Viridis and Dualis. Job well done yet again Brother Carlos!

The brush from @apshaveco was one of my very first brushes from Andrew along with the SynBad knot. But this cashmere knot is pure luxury at its finest. A lot of coverage on the face with great splay and one of the softest knots I own. Feels like a cloud when you are painting the lather on your face. Although a little user error on my part. I think I squeezed a little too much water out of the knot thus making the lather not as slick as you can see in the pictures. But I added water to the bowl and that issue was fixed rather quickly. The Ultima 2 base is some of the best stuff out there.

The Vanguard from @therazorcompany is a no nonsense razor. Not to mention a beautiful looking piece at that. Threw in a fresh Feather blade and there is nothing like it, chefs kiss! Well worth having in the den. Thank you for following along…and as always
