👋 Welcome to r/BooksAfterTheEnd - Introduce Yourself and Read First!
Welcome! The world is ending. Bring a book.
This is a place for people who love apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic books—because apparently the world ending won’t fix our TBR problem.
Nuclear war? Grid failure? Pandemic? Zombies eating the neighbors? Whatever takes civilization down, we want to know what you’re reading while it happens.
Come talk about the books you love, the characters you’d want in your survival group, and the fictional decisions that made you yell, “WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?” at an innocent paperback.
Readers and authors are both welcome. Authors, we want to discover your stories, too! Please keep promotional posts in our weekly Book Discovery thread on Wednesdays and join the conversations around the community. Give us a chance to meet the person behind the apocalypse.
Before posting, take a quick look at the rules. Be kind to each other, label your spoilers, and remember that loving a book isn’t a requirement for discussing it respectfully.
Let’s get acquainted:
- What’s an apocalypse book you’d recommend?
- Which kind of fictional collapse keeps you turning pages?
- Who’s one character you’d trust to get you through it?
Pull up a chair. Tell us what’s on your bookshelf.
We can’t promise you’ll leave with fewer books to read. That seems wildly unlikely.
