Free iMac, ideas?
I managed to score a late 2013 iMac for free. I think the guy had plans for OCLP and said he got it working, but it still had Maverick on it so I think he may have hit a wall and abandoned it. I just happened to have recently wiped and updated the wife's 2015 Air to Sequoia so it seemed fortuitous that this popped up and I hopped on it.
Come to find out it's top of the line, 3.5 GHz i7 and GTX 780M. I tossed two more sticks of memory in it to make 32GB, then managed to snag a new aftermarket 512GB Apple SSD on eBay for cheap for the OS instead of the mechanical 1TB drive it came with (I left that in there just because). The guy even gave me a magic mouse with it, so for a few bucks and a bit of my time to disassemble/reassemble the machine and to install Sequoia I'm pretty happy.
But … I don't know what to do with it. Everyone in the house has at lease one personal computer, I have a mini PC running Plex and other basic home network stuff, there is a computer in the kitchen and the garage, and the Pi 4 has Batocera. So what do you think, what can I do with this thing?
