I recently got a 2026 Ionic 5 SEL
My office building has both ChargePoint and Tesla level 2 chargers. I went to charge at a ChargePoint charger in my office and was unable to get it to work.
I then switched over to the Tesla level 2 charger (believe it is a destination charger) and my car started charging without any issue.
I have since charged my car again two additional days at the Tesla charger. Simple and easy, plugin and car started charging.
However yesterday when I went to plug in, I can’t get it to charge. Went through multiple different routines multiple times trying to get the “handshake” or dance to work but no dice.
My question is this: the charger is supposedly $0.35 kWh but I had charged for free the first 3 times I used it (spread out over a week). Why would my car not be charging now, and why would it have been able to charge for free while using ut over the past week? Is there some sort of first week free charge deal or could it be an issue with the charger and it not matching the car?
