Should I press charges against my roommates younger sister for destroying our apartment
It was 11pm I was sitting on the couch with my Grandma and roommate watching a movie. I hear a knock on the door I look through the hole, I see our close friend Andy C.
I look back at my roommate to see if she was expecting company and she wasn’t but we trust him so we opened the door. I greeted him and then right behind him came running in (who we did not invite in) my roommates sister Cait N. She rushes toward our pantry, grabs a metal pan and starts beating the tv several times. I watch in disbelief and frozen in fear.
She then proceeds to take my guitar off the wall and smash it on the ground then my ukulele and smash that too. Then she flips the piano that was under the tv, grabs a jug of water from the pantry and starts pouring water all over it as my Grandma try’s to stop her and fight back. She hits my Grandma with the jug and proceeds to the fridge where she starts throwing everything on the floor, breaking glass, saying she doesn’t have a dollar to her name then she goes to the trash can, dumps it everywhere and throws everything in the kitchen draws on the floor.
Eventually she goes in the bathrooms and trash’s them. After that my Grandma goes to call 911, Cait grabs the phone and smashes it with a pan. Then makes her way to the laundry room and starts pouring detergent everywhere and laundry beads. I try to get her out of the apartment with my Grandma who keeps asking “who are you!” And as my Grandmother and I try to gently restrain her to remove her, she throws a punch at my Grandma (eventually turning into a black eye and a fracture nose). We finally get her out lock the door and I look for my cat. I find the cat and grab her to lock her in my room, I grab her and slip and fall on my back. After that we fled the apartment and drove to my Grandmas at around 1am after we gathered some belongings and the cat.
The reason behind all of this is because the day before my roommates family came to do an intervention because she reached out wanting to get sober, so they took her to her aunts house. Right after the aunt took her the mom and sister start going through her stuff trying to sell it since roommate was in some credit card debt, they also took food and then told me I need to move out by the end of the month.
So after they left I called my sister in Florida to see what I should do since I was really sad about everything, I also was on a FaceTime call with my sister and roommate on how we can pay for the apartment while she was gone, and that if not her family was trying make me move out.
My roommate was upset by this and I had fallen asleep on FaceTime then when I woke up she had came home. So the next morning I got us mobile IV therapy and also make some soup to heal her body, then later my grama came over to hang out and make sure she would stay sober. So I have video evidence and let me know what y’all think, it’s very unsettling and sad to watch her destroy everything.
