Advice for International Travel While Studying as an Exchange Student
Hallo! I will be studying on exchange next summer, and I’m really excited to be living abroad for a few months in your city! I’m a U.S. citizen and I’m itching to see as much as possible while I’m in Europe. I know that the German school calendar is on a slightly different schedule to the U.S. school calendar, which means that exams end right before I need to be back in The States to start the fall semester.
I am learning that traveling between countries is fairly easy in Europe (and especially in Germany). I’ve been making a list of cities that I would be interested in exploring, but I’m wondering how much opportunity there is to travel during the semester. Is weekend travel common and/or manageable with schoolwork and lectures? If so, what are the most reasonable distances to travel for a weekend excursion?
I would appreciate any advice for traveling while studying abroad! Also any other tips for making the most of Tübingen!
