My generator trigger my CO alarm!

I needed to charge my battery so I turned on my generator as usual and after about two hour my CO alarm went off. This is the first time it happens so it caught me a bit off guard.

I recently bought an air/temperature monitor and I noticed my eTVOC levels spiked immediately after turning on the generator. I went to walk my dogs and just kept an eye on it from the app. About two hours after the CO alarm went off and I went to check. I turned off the generator and ran the roof fans and the eTVOC levels dropped almost immediately so I know for sure it was the generator.

The roof fans were off but open so I hoping that was the mistake? But I leave them open almost 24/7 and this had never happened before so it may be something else?

Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on what to look for or how to fix it? I’m concerned the generator fumes may be leaking from under the coach somewhere. Maybe through the floor? Should I do maintenance on the generator. I just bought the RV so generator may be do for a cleaning?

All windows were closed. Thank you in advance!!

Does anybody know where I can buy something like this for my Thor Majestic? Or how hard is it to build? Or maybe something similar?

After a long and deeply researched deliberation I’ve decided to go with an All-in-One solution instead of hardwiring a new electrical system in my RV. I’ll do a better post once I have everything ready but for now I wanted to give a quick update.

I picked up this bad boy today, got it used for $900! It’s the Ecoflow Delta Pro 3600wh. First thing I tested was the AC and as expected it’ll last for 2ish hours at FULL BLAST with one full charge and no Solar Power input. It had absolutely no issues starting up and I can easily run the microwave and fridge at the same time. Best of all, it’s completely quiet! No more loud generator annoying my neighbors!

So now that I know that it works I’ll be picking up two extra batteries and possibly upgrading to the Chill Cube. That one is supposed to be more power efficient so once the system is complete I should be able to use it seamlessly all-day if I wanted to (With solar power charging the Ecoflow.)

But we’ll see, need more tests to figure it all out, any questions or suggestions feel free to comment!
