How to help get started biz coaching?

I spent 15 years building real brick and mortar businesses. Multiple locations, SBA loans, real payroll, real taxes, seven days a week. Daily regulars who depended on us. Not dropshipping, not an internet business l, because butsomething people actually showed up to. Since then I’ve coached businesses in wellness, events, and tech where brick and mortar was the end user. I also work with an NBA program coaching students on how to start their entrepreneurial journey. The feedback I keep getting from people I work with is genuinely humbling. But I have zero marketing infrastructure. I’m purely word of mouth and I don’t know how to reach more people without throwing money at ads I don’t understand yet. For people who’ve built real coaching practices — not courses, not funnels, just genuine client work — how did you get traction beyond referrals? What do you wish you’d done first?
