Any games that portray a realistic 1980s/1970s asylum?
Hi. For the past couple years, I’ve been really into the asylum horror aesthetic, but it’s hard to really find a game that I enjoy… most asylum games are purposefully made to look like apocalypses, have zombies in them, ghosts, and just straight up abandoned asylums (that which the protagonist is exploring). Those don’t interest me. What I’m looking for is a realistic portrayal of asylums, like the sterile environment, REALISTIC (like researched) treatments and stuff. I hate seeing straitjackets look inaccurate, I hate seeing treatments be inaccurate, I hate how the staff act inaccurate— I want a ACCURATE game about living in an asylum in the 1970s or 80s. I want to play a game where you are the protagonist, who lives in an asylum, and you are trying to escape it secretly. I want the game to be horror, but not the horror you’re thinking of, I don’t want ghosts or zombies, I want the pure and unfiltered simulation of being in a horrible psych ward (ECT, hallucinations, patients fighting staff, etc etc). That’s what’s scary to ME, I want something scarily accurate. I don’t want paranormal, I want accuracy. Is there any sort of games that are like this? I already searched up a few games, and they’re all almost the same (outlast, asylum, forest asylum, etc etc). I don’t line the grimy and rotting look to those games. I want something sterile and realistic. Any help is appreciated.
